Who Knew March Could Be So Fun?

Having attended Ohio State University the past few years, I’m used to hunkering down and getting through the third month of the year with its grey skies and damp, cold days. Now that I have graduated and started working with The Marlyn Group, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to travel with them. This March really flew by considering that I was at three different parking events and a video shoot since the start of the month. I am so excited to share my experiences and photos with you! My adventure kicked off on Sunday, March 16th in the great city of Chicago where the Parking Industry Exhibition took place. We arrived early Sunday and I assisted Colleen and Vicki in setting up our Marlyn Group booth before heading out to a super fun reception put on by Parking Today. We spent the remainder of the show meeting many new people in Chicago and it was a very exciting and educational event.

Immediately following the PIE Show I had the honor of attending the Inaugural Women In Parking Conference and wow, it was so amazing. It kicked off with a wonderful networking reception and dinner, then was followed the next day with three educational sessions that were a perfect balance of relevant insights and on the job best practices.

Next I headed to Houston for the Texas Parking and Transportation Conference. What a great setting, we were at a resort right on the gulf coast!  I met a number of people the second night there and also attended some very informative sessions that furthered my parking education. The conference was capped off with a luau for all those in attendance and I fully enjoyed the boat races in the pool and the hula dancers, what a show! My many new friends that I made there can be seen on my FB page as well.   I’m looking forward to the IPI Show in Dallas this June to reconnect with y’all.

Finally, it was very exciting to be a part of a training video we shot for a client at a Detroit location; talk about experiencing three large cities in just a few weeks! I spent the day with Colleen and Vicki and had a ball manning the video camera and capturing the shots we needed; I felt just like a Hollywood director.

We were so busy at the start of March; I didn’t capture as many pictures as I would have liked, but I picked up the slack the remainder of the month and have a lot to share with you. Oh, that reminds me! If you want to see all of my new friends I have met and follow me on my parking journey, visit my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/marlyngroupllc. All in all, I can honestly say this industry is very exciting to be a part of and the people involved are very welcoming. Happy Spring!
